Kyrie eleison

I haven't been following things too closely, so please correct me if I'm wrong:

1. An anti-Israel group (that is not the government of Lebanon) kidnapped two Israelis.

2. Israel, believing that the government of Lebanon permits this anti-Israel group to operate, began attacking Lebanon.

3. While this anti-Israel group has been shooting rockets at Israel, Israel has been conducting air strikes against Lebanon.

4. Seven Canadians have died in the Israeli air strikes.

5. The Prime Minister of Canada announces to the world that it's okay for Israel to kill seven Canadians, because two Israelis were kidnapped.

This is the letter I wrote to the Prime Minister:

Dear Mr Harper,

I am writing to express my disgust with your response to the events of this week in Lebanon and Israel. You do not represent the will or beliefs of myself or any sane person when you refuse to condemn violence and to demand peace.

In light of your government's inexcusable participation in the American imperialist mission in Afghanistan, and your inability to represent the desire of all Canadians for peace in Lebanon and Israel, I believe you have lost the moral authority to govern this nation.

I hope, Sir, that you will be good enough to resign your position as Prime Minister. I will be writing to the Member of Parliament for my riding, encouraging her and her colleagues to bring down your government in a vote of non-confidence as soon as possible.

Further, I demand that you cease immediately your claims that you represent me or my views. You have lost touch with what a Canadian is if you believe that Canadians think the Israeli government's actions this past weekend were appropriate. Do you think that the seven Canadian civilians killed by the Israeli military are well represented by you?

Mr Harper, I look forward to the time when Canada will restore order, good government, and peace.

Sincerely,

-Andrew
